[ICT Media STRATEGIES] – The Directorate General of Taxation (DGI) of Cameroon undertook in Douala from 13 to 16 September 2022 a consultation mission with the private sector in preparation for the 2023 Finance Law. This was an opportunity for Director General Modeste Mopa Fatoing to respond directly to the concerns of the private sector, but also to take note of their proposals for reforms and improvements for the 2023 finance law in preparation.

Participants questioned the DG on the practices of harassment of local council agents on taxpayers of Impot Libératoire. “The forthcoming reforms of local taxes will enable us to address this issue. But now we are going to look deeply into your concern and try to handle it”, promised Modeste Mopa Fatoing to the participant who complained.

This was on September 13, 2022, at the Krystal Palace Hotel in Douala. The DGI also explained that a quality committee has now been set up within the Directorate General of Taxation which tax officers refer to before conducting audits and other controls. All of his explanations are in this video.
